N6 cooperation

The politicians in the six biggest cities in the northern part of Sweden have decided to jointly change the image of the region – an image that incorrectly describes northern Sweden as consuming and on the decline. The intention of the N6 cooperation is to renew the image of the region as an innovative area with urban areas, attracting large investments with an industry that is the backbone in Swedish export, a high level of education and Sweden’s lowest unemployment. The work is co-funded by ERDF.

UBI offers facilities, know-how and financing for medical innovators wanting to test and verify their business ideas. It has international competitive services for development and verification and is an attractive place for overseas scientists looking to broaden their career in Sweden. The UBI companies have a very high success rate (90 %) for landing financing from external financiers. UBI systematically promotes women entrepreneurs, and during 2012–2016 the amount of UBI companies owned by women increased from 12 % to 40 %.

North Sweden Cleantech

North Sweden Cleantech is a regional innovation platform in northern Sweden that supports innovation within the cleantech sector between business and research institutes/academia. The platform also attracts talents to our region and specifically more women to the tech sector. Women in technology face a gender gap much wider than that faced by women in other sectors, and that is no different for female entrepreneurs in sustainable technology. For example, the energy industry remains one of the most gender-imbalanced sectors. The work is co-funded by ERDF.
